Research and impact
GBS has published two pioneer research papers on the characteristics of prion-like pathological proteins in Nature Communications, a highly regarded, peer-reviewed journal. Since the disregulation of prion-like proteins is associated with Motor Neuron Disease (MND), Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and many other neurodegenerative disorders lacking effective treatments, GBS’s findings have garnered international attention and become the keystone for subsequent research on prion-like disease and liquid-liquid phase separation.
